The Crysis Trilogy Is Now Available On Xbox One via Backwards Compatibility

Major Nelson aka Larry Hryb announced today that Crytec’s Crysis Trilogy is now backward compatible on the Xbox One and Xbox One X. Crysis 1, 2 and 3 are $19.99 on the Xbox Store and now available for purchase.

Crysis is a first-person shooter developed by Crytek and published by Electronic Arts. The series revolves around a group of military solders with nanosuits which allows them to gain enhanced physical strength, speed, defense, and cloaking abilities. They face off against North Korean soldiers, heavily armed mercenaries, and a race of technologically advanced aliens known as the Ceph. The game was original released in 2007.

In 2011 Crysis 2 was released. Crysis 2 takes place in 2023 three years after the events of the first game, in a destroyed New York City which has since been evacuated due to alien infestation.

Two years later Crysis 3 was released. The game again is based in New York in 2047, 24 years after the events of Crysis 2. The game was built on the CryEngine 3
