On Saturday, November 2nd, 2019 – we at RemotePlay were fortunate enough to be invited by Sony Interactive Entertainment to attend the press event for Death Stranding – aptly titled the “Death Stranding Experience”. This was an opportunity to not only see the inner workings of what makes the game, but to also meet the legend himself: Hideo Kojima.
The event took place in Camden at the Stables Market. The venue was an intimate area divided into three rooms each covering different aspects of the game. Meeting Kojima-San was an honor. He took time out to thank us for attending and exhibited an enthusiasm, humility, and kindness that was refreshing. Kojima-San was then preparing his world tour meet and greet.
Next we moved onto the Death Stranding Experience. In the first room- an audio visual demonstration dedicated to the BB was on display. A lullaby from the game drowned the room whilst test tubes and amber amniotic hues blasted your periphery.
The second room was a sharp contrast with a massive projection screen showcasing Mads Mikkelsen and Guillermo Del Toro. Two soldiers in skeleton masks paraded the room. Lastly there was Pyro coming from the floor. Think of it like a Death Stranding haunted house.
After the experience there is an opportunity to purchase limited edition merchandise including t-shirts, hoodies and mugs. The Limited Editon Death Stranding PS4 Pro was also on show. The Death Stranding Experience will re-open on the 8th, 9th and 10th November in London to the public.
The event left us salivating for the release. Death Stranding will be available worldwide on November 8, 2019 Exclusively on PlayStation 4.
