Today Mark Cerny donned the stage and went in depth on the technical details of PlayStation 5. It is safe to say – the PS5 is a beast and contains some very forward thinking design initiatives. In a 50 some odd minute talk on what he envisions the next generation to be he laid out the ground work for the PS5. Some of the highlights included –
1. A Custom Zen 2 processor at 3.5 ghz.
2. A RDNA 2.0 Based GPU with 10.3 Teraflops of compute
3. An incredibly fast 5 gb /s SSD with the ability to add user upgradable storage in the future. The SSD worked in tandem with a custom DMA Processor to be 100 times faster than PS4 Pro!
4. A 3D audio chip with some incredibly technical algorithms to fit user needs.
